The eyes of the Commonwealth will be on Cairns from March 15-17 2018, as the Queen's Baton journeys towards its final destination, the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Opening Ceremony on 4 April 2018.
Residents from Cairns can begin planning their Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) experience with the street-level detail and community celebrations now available to explore. The baton will travel to some of the region's tourism hot spots on Thursday 15 March, before hitting the streets of the northern beaches and Cairns City on Friday 16 March, and then Edmonton on Saturday 17 March.
From the beaches of Palm Cove through to the new community facilities, the QBR will feature many of the iconic backdrops the region is renowned for including the Cairns Esplanade, Cairns Botanic Gardens and Munro Martin Parklands.
