Surf Life Saving Queensland has advised that stinger risk is high today and into the next week, due to sustained northerly conditions. Stay safe and swim at patrolled beaches, wear protective clothing and look for and observe warning signs.

Friday is Twilight Sliding day at Sugarworld!
The Targa Great Barrier Reef rally is coming to Cairns from 31. August until 2. September. So far 163 crews have officially entered this first ever Cairns event, exceeding all expectations. It is not too late to enter! Simply email Pam at pam@targa.com.au for further details.
⚠️ Surf Life Saving have removed the stinger nets from all beaches due to weather and strong winds. The nets are expected to be re-installed on Friday, possibly Saturday.
Some good news to come out of the overnight rain... Copperlode Falls Dam is full and water is now flowing over the spillway. A wonderful sight to see! It's normal for the dam to spill during the wet season. In a good year, it will spill consistently for 3-4 months. #WetTropics
